That last part and pretty much everything from this show so far has been handled really well and I appreciate and respect that.

Jo's actress has such a presence. Tell me why I'm scared of a little teenage girl lol sis is bullying me through the screen! Hope to see her in more things!

Right? She has an uncanny way of encapsulating a very cruel kind of teenage bully that I remember all too well.

I hope this show brings a paradigm shift to any media around violence, I've been so impressed with every aspect of it. It's a heartbreaking watch, but so much more thoughtful and whole than anything else I've watched.

There's an interview with the Showrunners that said all the teens, especially Jo's actress, were very protective of Vritika because she was the youngest and they constantly checked in on her, especially during the bullying/violent scenes. It made me glad these kids looked out for her, she's so young 😭

Reena wants to be Jo literally in many ways, but she also can never be because she’s an Indian girl. And so it’s like, well, if I can’t be you, close to you is a way to approximate that craving.

Like this is something white women and girls will never understand and have really done 0 efforts to do so. I remember I had some brown girlfriends who were terrorized by white girls in high school for their body hair and skin tone. Only for the brown girls to be envious of those same white girls and it really scars you well into adulthood. As a canadian this whole story is just really hard to stomach.

Please keep writing!

Last night's episode is so hard to watch. These white girls in their home. And she's just so happy to have them in her life and world, meeting her parents. And the Virks are so genuine. Meanwhile these girls are so fucking sinister, I can't.

I had the video player minimized on my screen as soon as they entered her house. I never had friends over at my house growing up because it made me anxious, so knowing this would be about white girls visiting her home ughhh…. This was a rough watch for me too :(
