Said this in Omona but yes it is a cult. Kpop agencies are high control groups. They are cults. Just not in the way you're thinking but they do meet the criteria. Your job is also a cult most likely.

iirc jyp's wife's parents run a cult (the salvation sect, which was associated with the sewol ferry disaster) but jyp has denied being affiliated with them. he has his own organization, firstfruits, where he leads bible seminars. so maybe he's lying about being in a cult, maybe he's trying to start his own cult, maybe he's just trying to be a normal preacher, idk.

I have a friend who does not know anything about k-pop and bc I linked him to a LE SSERAFIM video once (he heard something on the news about it I think or read something online) and now a lot of his YT recommends are those shorts about k-pop that ppl make w/AI voices reading scripts full of bad grammar and spelling, his takes on this have been fucking hilarious to me and v entertaining

I got a text from him yesterday morning asking me if it was true MHJ hired a shaman I was like "prob? it's not that uncommon" so every day it's me fielding questions from him about this whole drama

team no one except the idols being dragged into this mess tbh. but i did find it funny how pannchoa went down the second this whole scandal broke.

i think the cult allegations are wild, but cult shit seems to be taken seriously considering they impeached a president over it not that long ago so i wonder if it'll actually gain any steam.

i do think getting advice from mystics is a thing in parts of asia. tbh i've even had friends here who tell me their parents made some decisions based on stuff like that so the shamen stuff didn't actually surprise me lol.
