That's so awful! I hope she pulls through. Depression is a nightmare, treatments for it can be very challenging for both doctor (to find the best one) and for the patient (most treatments also do take time to work, and have secondary effects too).
I really appreciate her being open about this. There's still this weird stigma around Depression and Mental Health which is frankly ridiculous. There are so many people who have their own internal struggles and the more we talk about it the more it can help someone who is struggling.

Yep, I've definitely had my moments with my baby who's 6 months now. It was the hardest when my partner went back to work. I felt like I was drowning amongst the baby crying, lack of sleep, hormones, post-partum pelvic recovery, breastfeeding and the worry of no money during maternity leave.
It's good that she's being honest as Mum's often have to conceal what they're going through when really they should offload. It's good to talk. I've been telling all my friends my experiences and they've been very kind and receptive. I joined a few baby groups- some were a bit snooty with clearly competitive and cliquey Mum's, but fortunately I've found one group of Mum's who are on the same level as me and are a huge help to talk to.

I have to write a research essay on postpartum depression before and there have been very sad cases from this disorder.
