I love how half of the criticisms are from last year.

My favorite songs of hers are the ones that aren't using samples. Wait, nvm, one has a sample. Wel, 2/3 aren't d.

Hmmmm...referring to herself in the third person? That's the kind of popstar behaviour I like. She remains in my undecided pile for now.

I like samples when they’re creatively used to make something interesting and new. Not when the sample is so glaringly obvious that it immediately makes me think of the original song and I’d rather listen to that instead (ie mostly all of the lazy samples in Nicki’s Pink Friday 2).

she's makes solid pop music

but the thing that irks me about her is that she never seems comfortable in her own skin. if you like using samples, own it! if the songs are good nobody cares. if you like having one side of your hair chopped off, own it! she always seems to be backtracking her branding, which comes off disingenuous and then you start to lose your identity as an artist bc then people start to see you as fake, etc.

like who are you girl

Probably because this whole image and concept was given to her by her record label. She's been trying to break into the industry since the mid-00s with a different look and name.
