i have felt so sick since hearing about this. also it seems so avoidable? wasnt there plenty to commit him with already? editing because it sounded weird to me reading back, im not victim blaming and they should be able to stand up and say he did these things. i just dont know why the lawyers wouldnt clock it as a possible loophole

The words in the tweet image do indicate that he'll have to go through the trial process all over again. And I don't doubt for a second that this scum would still be found guilty without the information that ultimately lead to the overturning being part of the case.

Sadly, stranger things have happened.

If the judge fucked up that severely then I hope they face some consequences. Weinstein will still die in prison, thankfully.

I believe this man is guilty. I am glad that he is still in prison. If it had been a Cosby type deal, I'd be fuming.

Oh damn… I wonder if NY will bother to re-prosecute or if they’ll leave it since he has his CA convictions. What a blow to his victims and everyone who testified, potentially having to go through another trial. I wonder if maybe NY will offer a plea to avoid another trial? Honestly if there is jail time that can sometimes be the preference of victims who don’t want to have to be dragged through another criminal trial.

This sucks
