Matty's explanation of the challenge ("throw it on the floor, throw it on the ceiling") seemed vague and nonsensical, so I don't blame any of the contestants looking confused.
Maybe I need to rewatch but some of the quickfire dishes didn't seem very focused on the requisite dairy. From what I remember, a few of them made a dish and then put some kind of whipped cream on top.
It seemed like about half the quick fires didn't focus on dairy at all. I can't believe none of the made ice cream or custard. And ice cream sundae would have been perfect, especially if they had used some kind of cheese in the ice cream, like goat cheese or even blue cheese.
The churros should have had three different cream/cheese-based dipping sauces. How could you miss a lay up like that?
I've said this before, but this group of chefs seems to be the most unimaginative they've had in a long time. The "chaos" challenge shows this as well.
Haven’t watched it yet and I wish I didn’t click the spoilers 😭😭😭😭 how????? I thought they would make it to the end. Ughhhhhh. Now I don’t even want to watch the episode.
After watching the episode I wasn’t surprised (who wants slimy eggplant??) but it just sucks because she’s been so good otherwise!! I hate that the bottom two were two of my three faves. It was like Sophie’s choice.
I saw your post early this morning, but clicked away without looking at spoilers. I've only just watched the episode, but I spent all day thinking Michelle was eliminated. I'm so happy she wasn't, but now I'm absolutely gutted for Rasika. And pissed that the judges would eliminate one of the more interesting, creative chefs. This season is turning out to be whack.
Here I was, all excited, thinking the LCK twist would be an amazing way to clean house of the MANY mediocre chefs this season seems to be plagued with... only for them to immediately threaten to eliminate the only interesting chefs 🤡🤡🤡
This challenge had the potential to be so fun too - I got that it was a "anything goes but make it unexpected" challenge and we still got fine dining. Can't wait to see how they fuck up sausage next week.
