maybe me and the other people who also saw the undertone of that comment can see something you can't! maybe us from the global south have been described as dangerous animals for long enough that we can pick up on what people mean when they say certain things! just a thought.

People are reacting to a large gathering of people, not the country it’s in 🤦‍♂️
This free concert could be in Miami’s South Beach, and people could still have the same concerns.

It’s great to hear that there has been so many events with no problems at this beach, but as things like Astro City festival (America), or that recent Halloween event (South Korea), things can go south in an instant if something happens that could lead to trampling/no room to run around.

I don't know what undertone you are referring to. Extremely large gatherings have always been a problem. We even have posts about them here on this gossip sight because things go wrong so often from sexual assault in the crowd to stampedes. There are countless reports on how these types of gatherings are dangerous. If you want to look at things with rose coloured glasses, that's your business, but don't expect others to do the same.

And why do you think that every negative criticism is obviously from someone from the Global North? Are we here in the Global South perfect? Yes. We. Because I am South African.

i cant believe the discourse this comment caused, omg.
It's great that this place hosts huge events all the time, but you're clearly referring to any large gatherings. I always think worst case scnearios if there's some sort of panic that triggers a stampede of running.
