ia. also i wish we could make all the streaming services that have jacked up prices/made shitty production choices scared enough to drag out the couch to apologize and promise they won't do it again lol

cancelling subscriptions is not enough, we need to have parasocial relationships with the netflix executives to generate power, we must make execs' careers reliant on our stanning lmao

I really thought it was a good apology. I subscribed. I could always afford it but I was waiting to see what their reaction would be because everything they apologised for is valid. And I love their content so I will support them.

Given how a lot of YouTubers are moving it seems like YouTube isn't a big money maker anymore. A lot of the older YouTubers I used to watch barely post anymore and when they do it's only ads.

i have like five favorite youtubers (and i bet anyone can guess who they are if i say i'm a 30 year old white woman who likes longform media commentary/crit lmao) and only one of them uploads once a month-ish, the others have all but bounced. they're not on tiktok either though...sometimes youtube just feels empty in general but it may just be my algorithm

I feel like that was on purpose which is super fucked up considering what actually happened with the Try Guys. I know the response for what they're doing is the best direction but I'm still side eyeing

I cynically agree with you. Nothing they've done in the announcement video (and this one) is by accident. Every aspect (music, wording, where they're sitting, etc) has been a choice.
