Shōgun was supposed to take film for six months but it ended up being ten months!

To prepare for the role, she learned horseback riding, sword fighting, calligraphy, and even how to walk.

Her first role was in the musical Annie.

She learned how to knit while filming Shōgun and she made a cute little knitted case for Stephen's glasses.

Oh look future nominee and first woman of asian descent (that other woman doesn't count) for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series.

I am still too chicken to watch this violent show but just wanted to say it's clear she is a born performer and public persona.

I really don’t know anything about her other than she was born in New Zealand and she was in FAKY so I thought she would have like a New Zealand accent when she was speaking English lol

She left New Zealand when she was super young and was educated only in international schools.
