As a Christian who is not American, YES. So bewildering.

I don't know that I would solidly identify myself as "Christian" these days (I don't know what I am anymore), but I still think Jesus- as a person- was pretty rad. I literally cannot wrap my head around his most ardent, alleged followers doing the exact opposite of absolutely everything he stood for.

The more I learned about Jesus as a person as opposed to the religious figure we were taught about at school, the more I learned to appreciate him as a human being

"Trump is a rapist and a con man, and yet the entire Christian church seems to be treat him like he’s their poster child and it’s unreal. ...I don’t understand it."

I appreciate the sentiment, but considering how many rapists the church is protecting, maybe it shouldn't come as a surprise

Idk maybe it’s because i had a very religious upbringing but i had no idea how bad some of my family members were until trump was elected.

“Christians today have become the most vitriolic tribe. It is so antithetical to what Jesus was calling us to be and to do,” he explains. It also upsets him that some Christians have so closely aligned with former President Donald Trump. “Trump is a rapist and a con man, and yet the entire Christian church seems to be treat him like he’s their poster child and it’s unreal. I don’t understand it.” His mother remains staunchly Catholic, but he quickly swats away any associations. “It’s worth saying that the atrocities that are happening in the church that are being actively covered up, even to this day with people not being held accountable, is repulsive,” he says, as the tenor of his voice changes. “I can’t for one second support the Catholic Church while there are still cardinals, bishops and priests being passed around with known pedophilic tendencies.”

He sounds like a reasonable and thoughtful Christian person.

As a lapsed Christian/Catholic I always appreciate it when those in the faith speak out like this

it's a small thing but yeah I appreciate it

There needs to be a full-fledged coalition of Christian voices pushing back. I can't understand why this isn't more of a thing.
