Warner Bros. just revealed the first trailer for the Joker sequel at Cinemacon. Joker: Folie à Deux releases October 4th and stars Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga.

I thought that too but Joker 1 had a strong unreliable narrator vibe throughout the entire film so I mean who knows.

I don't mind the change though.

This is how the Harley analogue character is handled in The Refrigerator Monologues, which is a feminist satire about superhero love interests, and I was never sure how to feel about it. It "makes sense," both from a realism perspective and in terms of the power dynamics at play. I get why you wouldn't want her to start out as an authority figure/someone with power over him, but it doesn't quite click for me. Maybe I'm too married to canon idk.
