Is this an alt universe where Bruce will never become Batman? I'm still so perplexed about this sequel.
Arthur is such a bumbling idiot, I have a hard time believing he'd be a challenge for Batman. Joker was a story about him basically failing upward as a killer and unintentionally becoming a symbol for people fed up with the system. I just am not convinced that Arthur could become a criminal mastermind. And I think his following would fizzle out because he's not really a revolutionary, and he's pretty inept. But maybe that's what Harley's role is this time? She's got the brains and organizing skills and tells him what to say/do, and Arthur is... there soaking up the attention? I can't make it make sense beyond that, honestly.
I haven't been following this movie at all, though. It's so unnecessary.
