I find it... interesting that she said this on Jameela Jamil's podcast and then EW took it upon themselves to ask the costume designer and 86-year-old Morgan Freeman about a movie from 25 years ago just so they could have vague quotes that could be read as discrediting towards Minnie.

Yeah EW didn't need to do all that, it was 25+ years ago and this movie was a mega bomb. Minnie has no reason to lie about it.

Also thanks for proving her point, Morgan Freeman and unnamed costume designer ("I was so punished for it. It was leaked to the press that I called and complained about conditions, but it was as if there was nothing to complain about and I was just complaining").

Yeah I really don't like how they're framing it as an absolute thing instead of their being multiple truths. Like do you really think the producers said this to her in front of witnesses, EW? Or that they told the costume designer to provide everyone but Minnie with a wetsuit?

Morgan Freeman is famously a creep and an asshole. He was harrassing a woman on their remake movie with him and Michael Cain starring and he kept harrassing and grabbing this woman. Alan Arkin (RIP) yelled at him to cut it out, while Michael Cain continued to be his untalented useless self.

I believe Minnie and neither of those two statements really contradicts her anyway. The producers probably told her in private.

Off the top of my head Haley Atwell and Romola Garai both have stories of producers personally approaching them and telling them they were fat AFTER they'd been cast.

It's a sleazy business, Minnie's story is unfortunately not out of the ordinary as disgusting as it is.
