Omg. I collect vinyl (for listening, not just to “collect”), but I’ve cut back a LOT over the last 2-3 years due to how expensive they’ve gotten.

I really was thinking about pre ordering Cowboy Carter for release in a week or so, but not if it’s gonna miss songs :(

I guess I should wait and see and get it once there’s one with the complete album!!

cheers to a fellow vinyl collector who actually buys to listen. i have set certain rules for myself like, don't buy an album if it has more than one song I would skip on streaming, don't buy an album twice

but it's REALLY hard to stick to "don't buy an album twice" the artists are withholding some of their fucking songs for a future deluxe edition release or whatever, and to NOT tell people about it upfront is really gnarly of her record label to be doing this

I didn't pre-order because as much as I love Bey's music, I'm not buying before listening. I have a humble collection I built up over maybe 15 years but who has the space to 'collect' physical media just to own it.
