i'd never really watched TC before world all stars last year, it inspired me to finally start learning to cook for real. this season is good so far imo! kristen is killing it
As I've gotten older, I've grown to really love cooking. It's so relaxing for me. I love spending the weekends experimenting, going through random cookbooks, and trying to cook all sorts of things. It's such a nourishing, loving, warm thing you can do for yourself and those you care for.
I've only seen last week's ep but Kristen was so great in it. Seamless transition from Padma to her, but her presence is still refreshing the show.
i have an ED history so cooking always seemed scary and like sth i "shouldn't" be doing anyway for the longest time. it's crazy how accomplished it makes me feel! even just making eggs i'm like omg girl slay, your technique is amazing, lemme photograph this masterpiece
I'm even happier for you that you got to where you are now. And eggs are notoriously hard to cook well so you should feel accomplished! Show those damn eggs off! I don't do IG but sometimes I've wanted to start one solely to post pictures of what I've made lmao
I love TC and I REALLY like that the editors took advantage of Kristen joining to change - because I've been noticing they're leaving in the background comments from the competitors (like when they shout out responses before the challenge is announced) as well as Kristen's little side jokes and comments before she puts her host hat on. It makes the show feel a lot more friendly.
She has just the right balance of professionalism and friendliness which allows her comments to be taken seriously while also interacting with the contestants in a way that makes them feel a little more relaxed. Being a host looks really easy but you never know how good or bad someone is until you actually let them do it. There have been some tv show hosts that sounded like robots while reading the cue cards about the challenges and could not interact with contestants to save their lives. It's nice to see Kristen do so well at this!

Excited to see Carla in the preview for the next episode, she's one of my favourite past contestants.
