I hope those Chinese billionaires who have been funding the reclaiming of Chinese artifacts from European museums find a way to repatriate these pieces too.

I hope this sets off a domino effect of these colonizers getting flack for this, it’s SO gross.

Stealing from other cultures because you lack any of your own while also systemically dehumanizing them sure is something.

I mean, not to be pedantic, but everywhere has culture. Whether you find the culture to be appealing or not is up to you, but there is no society on earth that has zero culture

what's not okay is stealing pieces of other cultures to show off. you can buy art from other cultures if the people who made the art are willingly selling it, I suspect a lot of people like the Chumlys here might have bought it, but of course, from someone else who stole it. You need to make sure you buy stuff that isn't stolen!

Obviously. I mean, it was more self-mocking as I’m genetically pure UK.

yeah, I figured, it's just a sociologist thing I feel like I have to say

also since I made this comment I read up on this story and apparently her husband definitely inherited this stuff from his family, who definitely stole it. So. They REALLY should have known better.

Total waste of paper. This is all Prince William's doing. He thinks he can threaten people with legal action and they'll back off. He and Rose are still a thing, she's his Camilla.

He's been successful in scaring British reporters from writing about the affair and hopes he can frighten Americans, but he's got another think coming.
