I can’t tell if it would be bad regardless or if it’s just that I can’t stand the two ADA’s. I mean I can’t even remember their names unless I’m watching the show and someone uses them.

i am hoping tony goodwyn makes an improvement. hugh dancy is awful in this. i don't hate the girl. but i need to see her not attached to him bc my hated extensions proximally

I've only watched like half a season of Organized Crime but it's like so gritty and depressing and dark, which I get is a drama but damn it's bleak

I loved Eamonn Walker sfm on Oz, and yet I've never watched any of the Chicagos. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Oh well, glad he's got a steady gig!

And here I am thinking if they cancel it, they'll go all in on the two of them. Chris will do guest appearances as a favour for Mariska, and with no show of his own, Stabler's storyline will be Bensons.

Fucking THIS. It would fix 75% of the show's problems. The rest could be corrected by letting other characters breathe without Mariska in the scene every so often, and actually keeping the female detectives around this time.

I know it's a pipe dream. I don't think Raul would ever come back full-time. He's not wanting for work but Barba as the ADA carried the show and Carisi was truly something different as a cop. Not an angry dick like my beloved Amaro. ADA Carisi has none of Barba's charisma, and none of the personality left that I loved him for. His hotness is his only enduring quality at this point.

Agreed on all points! I agree that Raul isn't likely to come back to play Barba full-time, but I have to wonder if he would for a final season. A girl can dream, lol.

Carisi was truly something different as a cop.

Yes! As a detective, Peter Scanavino gave Carisi this inherent gentleness that none of the other cop characters have ever had on SVU (or any of the other L&O's as far as I can tell), and I miss it terribly. I know Warren Leight is a polarizing figure for some (mainly because he loves Barba and hates Stabler, which, full disclosure, makes him a hero in my book) but he knew how to write everyone with nuance and depth. Especially Barba and Carisi. I had hoped that since Julie Martin worked with him, and was staying on after he left, she'd be able to maintain that, but it seems like she only gave a damn about Carisi in terms of shipping him with Rollins. Which absolutely killed his character arc. He's basically Nolan Price-lite now, and like, how the hell do you write a character ever more bland than one played by Hugh Dancy ( ... )
