I'm not surprised he's touched by it because I think he's mentioned feeling under-appreciated by the industry. I remember him saying that he was really bummed when Usher told him that he "fucked up music for real musicians" because of his use of autotune. T-Pain said that moment kicked off a 4-year depression for him.

So he's def appreciating this very public shout-out.
