Sevigny recently told Rolling Stone that she was sick of Barbiecore and dogs. Get ready, because she's back with even more takes in an interview with Variety.

One key quote from Variety: “I like certain aspects of certain things or certain performances, rather than loving anything overall,” she says carefully, before praising “Maestro,” ( Read more... )

Mark Ruffalo's accent was the worst thing about Poor Things.

I know the accents really don't matter in non-serious period film but I thought Emma's was worst. Funny enough it did not bother me in The Favourite but here I thought it was terrible.

Technically speaking they all were.

Instead of all white guys, Chloe is inclusive and will work with a contrarian racist like Dasha Nekrasova, I guess.

She's also a terrible actress. How does she keep booking all these jobs?

I was talking about Dasha but actually now that you mention Chloe's acting I don't recall ever being that impressed by her either.

She acts the same way in every role I've seen her in, and not in a good way.

I think Oppenheimer being not everyone's cup of tea and/or the continuation of white men suffering because they are dealing with the fact that they caused harm is getting tiresome is a valid take. (I personally liked Oppenheimer and I think it's well-made, but it wasn't my favorite.)

I'm not surprised she's working with someone like Dasha. they come from the same ilk and edgy~ white women are gonna edgy~ white women. idk. that whole circle of NYC gives me "we are edgy and cool and therefore very progressive and forward thinking therefore can say racist and weirdly misogynistic things but it's okay because it's actually subversive and cool~~"

tbh I never got the praise for Chloe Sevigny, but I think that's it, it's the "I'm edgy" staff, nothing actually impressive to talk about

What’s funny though is she’s never come off as “edgy” to me. First, she’s always been authentically herself and not some affectation or imitation of a cool girl, and second..big picture, she’s kind of strait laced. There’s no like wild party girl nihilism history, which is surprising given the environments and creatives she’s surrounded herself with. I am side eying her connection with Dasha, but overall I think you have her (and most of the commenters on here tbh) all wrong.

Mmm… maybe. I’m sure she’s not fake and I didn’t say she was a party girl, but (my friend with a bike, yada yada) knowing people who share the same circles as her, that circle of NYC gives me yucky vibes. I don’t think she’s Dasha levels. To me, it’s all under the same branch and there is a sense of ignorance. I don’t think it’s intentional or she wants to cause harm, but it’s not great…

Idc for this woman’s opinions, but that picture… whoa. She was never a looker, but wtf is going on here.
