I hope we never get a US version of Taskmaster bc you KNOW they would make it "who can get hurt" and I have never found that kind of humor funny but I almost always piss myself laughing at watching people flail about the tasks

They tried one season of US Taskmaster and it didn't get renewed. Alex was the assistant and Reggie Watts was the taskmaster. I never saw it though. Maybe I heard Alex or Greg talk about it? I can't remember. But apparently, it was made into a 30-minute show, and that didn't quite work.

I feel like it's not really fair to compare OG Taskmaster to other countries because it's been on much longer, and it's harder to come up with new tasks when the contestants are familiar with the game and know there are workarounds. That's why some of them end up convoluted. Considering all that, there's still a decent balance of simple creative tasks and the quality has remained surprisingly high. S11, S12, S13, and S16 are each among the strongest seasons imo. S14 and S15 are very good too, although I wasn't big on the S14 cast like other people.

I do wish Alex would bring in someone like Mike Wozniak for fresh ideas.

ETA: Oh I forgot to mention, I'm willing to bet Sophie Willan will come out of this as a fan fave. She's delightful, and everybody should go watch Alma's Not Normal.

i think hte show rly remains v fun considering how long it's been running at this point. there's no season that i haven't enjoyed to some degree, and more than once when i thought "oh ok maybe the magic has gone out of it a bit", the next season i'd usually feel it's back to form again.

I've been rewatching all of the seasons and trying to decide my favorite, and I think it’s 12. Desiree (not) popping the balloon, the wow monster, Victoria learning to ride a bike, the task where they buy gifts for each other…chef’s kiss.

I did love last season’s cast, but some of the tasks definitely were not working.
