they did a whole "say goodbye to meredith grey" song and dance so i'm pretty sure the plan was for her to leave with occasional appearances, if not for the strike and long hiatus i don't think she would have been in the premiere.
She had an exit ep last season but it barely felt like an exit. Like I genuinely forgot it was supposed to be one because other characters have had better send-offs. But yeah she's still signed on as an exec producer and is apparently supposed to be in four episodes this season.
It wasn't terrible tbh - it felt kind of old-school Grey's. Loved the references to the LVAD wire and Bailey being in charge again.
I'm interested in what they'll do with Lucas/Simone (even though they kind of gave them the same storyline as Japril) and Blue/Jules. Idgaf about JoLink or Teddy and Owen. I love Mika - her yelling at Jo was great. Would've been nice to see Nick grow as a character, but I'm not mad if he's leaving - him and Mer were pretty boring together.
Every time someone on this show gets in trouble for exercising terrible judgment, breaking a rule, killing someone in surgery, etc., I ask myself, "Is this worse than cutting an LVAD wire because you're in love with a patient?"
I stopped after Derek's ex wife goes West and gets Private Practice (goodforher.gif), so that's season 5?? but since it's a popular beloved soap, I see it on my TV every now and then and I can't stomach more than 15min of it... the over-the-top angst and dramatic rants with rethorical repetitions à la "I had a dream"... It raises my blood pressure and heart rate with pushy tricks, and not in a good way?
This episode was good. Could have done without Jo and Link. I really like the new interns. Well I don't care about Jules or Blue but they don't annoy me. That's enough.
I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't hate Owen. It's probably because I missed 7 years of this show.
I was surprised that they went with Webber had a relapse but he didn't actually drink.
