Thanks for the post, op.

I need to check these out although I honestly don’t know if I can do The Eternal Memory based on my own experiences with losing my grandmother to Alzheimer’s (and seeing what it did to my mom) over a decade. It’s such an awful disease.

Btw - does anyone here have any other recent documentary suggestions?

How recent? I quite enjoyed the Rescue, which came out in 2021 i think. On Netflix i think

About the Thai children stuck in that cave in 2018. Some slightly claustrophobic moments but shows the remarkable scale of the rescue and the amount of people involved, etc.

There's also a Hollywoodish film about it with Colin Farrell and Viggo Mortensen but that one is far too invested in the 2 british dudes lol

Both my grandmothers have had Alzheimer’s. I feel you. It’s such a fucking horrible disease.

I am glad Bobi Wine's struggle is a docu! I watched 20 Days in Mariupol and it was tough.

I want to watch all of these, and these days I don't really have a desire to watch non-docu films...

I've only seen Four Daughters out of the nominees and it deeply affected me. I still find myself thinking about it. I'll give 20 Days in Mariupol a watch at some point but I'm going to emotionally prepare for it.

rude @ Netflix only putting To Kill a Tiger on there today. I'll get to it soon, looks like a rough watch, as they pretty much all were. IA that 20 Days will & should win, but the style and structure of Four Daughters was so fascinating. I really struggled to empathize with the mother sometimes, but I appreciate that nothing was sanitized.
