The Viola and Shania ones are quite good.

Kylie's looks more like Taylor Swift.

Kylie 🥰

I just watched An Audience with Kylie tv special and it was a lot of fun. Seeing Andrew Scott dancing and singing in the audience was truly special. Like I needed another reason to love him more 😍

I just rewatched the Barbie movie today, lolll. It's so cute. (And I noticed that Barbieland featured an old Barbie dreamhouse that I had!) And I remain jealous of all the options kids have today with Barbies. So many different face molds AND bodies. Half of my Barbies were Weird Barbie, my friends and I were so desperate for something different...

I like that they have more options in shape, but the material the bodies are made of is so hard and cheap and the clothing is so cheap too. My mom kept all my old Barbie’s from the late 80s/early 90s and the clothes were so much more well made. I feel bad that my kids miss out on that. I have a Benetton Barbie and the attention to detail and quality of fabrics is so vastly superior to what they put out today, even on their more expensive Extra line.

As an active collector I can say the fashionista produce 1 - 3 actually nice dolls/outfits and a decent fashion pack every quarter or so but the main constraint is DEFINITELY from the top down. The designers often have instagrams and show their original visions of products but it seemingly is materials they get access too and/or executive meddling that water down the quality. Whoever is at the top of mattel realized they could likely make more by printing fabrics and using cheaper materials.

The harder bodies are more durable for smaller kids but NGL I do wish we had the modern facial sculpt and body diversity options with 90/2000s fashion fever quality.

I think some have nice designs! It’s more the fabric/production that I have issues with. Several of my daughter’s newer Barbie outfits have ripped or broken and my old Barbie outfits went through my whole childhood and now my daughter plays with them and they look like new still.

Nice gesture. They're still not winning for BP
