Dune: Part 1 leaves Netflix today, bbs.

I can't follow it for shit but don't let Warner Bros make it hard for you to catch up, if that's your thing.

I've been trying to check off all the Oscar nominated movies and shorts.

I found Anatomy of a Fall, Past Lives, and Zone of Interest...but where I try to watch the first two, they take forever to get going. I'll get through them at some point!!

Seeing the Oscar animated shorts tonight, live-action shorts next week, rewatching Dune pt. 1 at home tomorrow and then Dune 2 on Sat!! 🥳 In IMAX!! Can't wait to stay thirsty for like 2+ hours beforehand so I don't have to pee during the movie.

Probably seeing Io Capitano on Sunday. I look forward to hearing people's takes on Problemista, because it looks potentially too ~quirky and annoying even for me. But maybe not! Might give it a try in the future if it's worth it. Shayda needs to go wider so I can fit it in at some point, I really liked Zahra Amir Ebrahimi in Holy Spider (even though it wasn't great otherwise).

Super excited for Love Lies Bleeding next week. ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 And my mom was going on about wanting to see Cabrini and I was impressed by the good reviews, but turns out it's the same director as Sound of Freedom! I can't give that fool my $$!

I saw Perfect Days earlier this week and absolutely loved it. It's a real testament to the English language bias of the overall awards body that Koji Yakusho didn't get any critical recognition this season. In spite of winning best actor at Cannes. He was extraordinary. Then again I'm realizing more and more these days how much of an intricate political sphere the whole awards season is and I think Neon probably blew their whole campaign budget on Anatomy of a Fall.

Ahhhh, thanks so much for this OP I had no idea about Silver Haze and I am SO EXCITED.

Vicky Knight is a real life burn survivor and she and Polak worked together on Dirty God in which she plays a burn survivor and former party girl who struggles with her changed looks and being a mom. HIGHLY recommend.

I feel like so many times actors with physically unique characteristics like this get one role and then abandoned so I love that Polak worked with Knight again.
