i know JM's french accent thanks to the one poirot movie he did, but i have to say it's much worse here than in ABC Murders

It’s truly atrocious. And it’s such a minor role that they could have cast a no name actor with a credible French accent, so I don’t understand why this was allowed to happen. I know everyone (rightfully) gave Kevin Costner shit for not doing an English accent for Robin Hood but at this point, I think Malkovich playing Lelong with this terrible French accent is just as bad and just as noticeable.

I think what makes it worse is that he lived in France for 10 years and this is the best he could come up with lol.

To be fair, having an ear for accents and being a good actor are two separate skills. But what's crazy to me is just how bad his French accent is. It's like Joey on Friends bad.

The Édith Piaf song from the beginning of this week’s episode. It was written by Piaf and Marguerite Monnot. The song was used in the 1941 French film Montmartre sur Seine but is probably best known to modern audiences for its use in Saving Private Ryan
