Adam Waldman is acting like his toddler client on Twitter over this. So is that Umbrella Guy lunatic. I hope they mention every single one of the freaks who participated in this, there are so many.

I will never forget how people like Hasan Piker or Emily D. Baker straight-up lied about the UK trial to dismiss the verdict. Soulless, pathetic ghouls.

Last year that sexual predator Andy Signore had Depp's ex-wife Lori Anne Allison on a live stream saying she wishes "some things could be legal so I can do them to Amber". Unhinged stuff.

Wasn’t that Andy dude fired from honest trailers? I suppose be needed something new to do. The ex wife probably wanted attention or money. People are horrible assholes. She probably hasn’t even spoken to Depp for decades and he’d likely insult her like he does with Vanessa anyway.

Yeah, he was fired because he was accused of sexual assault. Depp and Lori weren't married for long and iirc, they divorced when Amber was 2 years old.

I'm so glad they've put in the work to call out the targeted harassment. The bot campaign was obvious...yet so many people used it as an excuse to pile on, make jokes about rape testimony, and contribute to the harassment of a DV survivor. Time will not be kind to those responsible or those who contributed to the pain of a survivor.

Yeah, I know a lot of people now love defending themselves by saying they were fooled by the campaign, but... where did the cruelty come from? The signs outside stores saying "everyone is welcome, except Amber Heard"? The rape jokes? The "she took coke on the stand" ridiculous bullshit? The "I'm a real victim and I know this bitch is lying" arguments while spreading victim-blaming myths? It was all too awful and people chose to be cruel because they were bored and wanted an easy target to unleash all of their misogyny.

You are spot on. People were thrilled to have a target for all of their hatred. Even some people that I love participated in their own ways and I truly will never look at them the same.

Yeah, I feel you. We all can fall for misinformation and no one is immune to propaganda, that is true. But people made active choices during the trial that they can't blame on Depp or the bots or on anyone but themselves.

I'm not a Dead Internet Theorist, but I'm convinced that there are way more bots (and accounts run by actual humans who are paid to say certain things) than people realize.

There's plenty of evidence of it, but social media sites are never going to do anything real about it because it tricks advertisers/investors and gets them more engagement.

I love the conspiracies about Amber and Elon /s.

That she hosted sex satanic parties with him, that she's blackmailing him, that he's funding her life (which is why she had to get insurance to pay for her lawyers, right?), that he's her daughter's father. They won't believe Amber's witnesses or therapy notes where she spoke about the abuse and sexual violence all the way back to 2011, but they'll believe whatever conspiracy suits them.

Oh, I forgot about that one. tbh there are so many lies about her being spread that sometimes I can't keep track, and they are all unhinged. I recall someone saying on Twitter "Amber's mother testified that she's a lying psychopath" and that got thousands of likes, when Amber's mom died in 2020.

Some of Depp’s side is having a fit about this on Twitter which gives me a good chuckle. I’m just happy she’s safe.
