Not familiar with the comic, but I enjoyed the movie! Glad more people will have a chance to watch.

I really liked Nimona. It was cute and I'd watch it again.

Don't know if Nimona is the best of the year but I'm still bitter about Klaus not winning Best Animated Film.

I watched it with my flatmate and while we liked it, there was something missing for us to make it the best of the year unfortunately.

that's where i'm at, it's very fun and i loved it a lot but i'm not 100% it was the best. then again, i know how much it means when films win that aren't disney or pixar, so for that reason alone i'd rejoice if nimona won. (or one of the other non-disney/pixar offerings.)

I thought the movie was fine.. Idk I thought Nimona was annoying (very quirky 😜) and while the movie had submersive chatacter/plot beats it still felt generic.

Ill give it credit for sticking the landing

this is how i felt. there were some parts that hit me emotionally, but the overall pacing of the film took me out of it too much. like a lot of things were going very fast and felt unearned, but they lingered around some of the punchlines and jokes for too long which made them fall flat.

i wonder if i might feel differently if i had watched it before the super hype train raised my expectations super high. i was expecting a masterpiece from the way people were talking about it.
