also i expected way more backlash over the Poor Things plot, like in general

the box office also looks pretty good

If it had a decently wide release it probably would have

I'd support more backlash over the plot tbh, I read up that there is a crucial thing missing from the book ending that does take away from the irk factor of the plot to me and I really would like a sit down with the writers and ask them what the fuck they were thinking scartching that but leaving the rest then as it is.

I think poor things benefitted from Barbie being front and center in a lot of things and especially after the Oscar nominations.

Because I watched the movie when it came out and was expecting a lot of think pieces and that’s barely happened!!

The Rising Star award is surprisingly good about not always going for the most popular name.

Also happy for Mia McKenna-Bruce, she was great in How to Have Sex.

Yesss Cillian🔥🔥🔥

I’m glad The Zone of Interest won for best British picture and film not in English.

And The Holdovers winning best Casting😘
Still haven’t seen Poor Things but I’m pretty salty Lily didn’t get nominated.
Also that’s a sweep for Da’Vine, can’t wait to see her get her Oscar 💕

I'm not the only person who thinks Oppenheimer as BP at the Oscars is basically assured, even before this, right? The narrative works - critically and commercially a darling.

Oh yeah. I still have 2 films to see for best pic but I’m very confident Oppenheimer is winning best picture and best director
