When I think about music, there are a ton of acts that had solid hits but then I think about 2019 and sooner and a lot of the people are mediocre but they're white so they'll get further than me or another Black singer that has the talent, personality and charisma. Dua Lip, I see you.

I think another problem is that people are trying to chase that next tiktok hit. So everything sounds the same now.

Regarding his comments, on the one hand there have ALWAYS been people who are just in the music industry for the fame but on the other 'fame' has never been so accessible. For better or worse, social media has democratized who can cash in on their music.
