While watching the only thing I could think of seeing the two mains in this is it's like if they made Bill and Jonas flirt in the first one. Enemies to lovers 10k.

I'll watch. It'll probably just be a cgi spectacle that won't feel fresh like the first film and the supporting cast won't be memorable. But I'll watch

She had proposed her own plot for a sequel and it was rejected and afaik she is not involved in this and this has no connection to the original.

well it does have a connection since the new protagonist is Helen's and Bill's characters' daughter. there was no official announcement that Helen is no longer involved so I'm hoping that she will be featured in the movie and that the trailer is just cleverly hiding that as an element of surprise.

This looks silly but I'm always up for a disaster movie. I don't know who Glen Powell is but is he supposed to be like a new Matthew McConaughey or something? That's the vibe I'm getting.
