My pottery teacher wanted to do this but she counts as a professional since she has her own business so it didn't work out.

What a bummer that your teacher couldn't participate! It's always interesting on skill-based shows to see what is considered an acceptable amount of experience and what is too much. I noticed that on Project Runway, they have had more designers with their own labels in recent seasons.

I wonder what the Great Canadian Pottery Throw Down considers a business. Like if you sell stuff on etsy, does that count? Technically "professional" means you get paid to do something, but everyone and their mom has an etsy shop, sells on Instagram, has a website, etc. so I think it can be harder to draw the line these days.

I think maybe it’s the “paid by other people” thing - ie. a teacher at a studio is paid by the studio.

My co-worker is on this show!!! So freaking cool to see him on here.

Seth Rogen killed me with his hometown tribute. "Also, it's a bong." Lmao of course it is

How awesome! I hope he tells you all the behind the scenes info! Although on a show like this, "behind the scenes" is more the nuts and bolts of production rather than gossip. I really love how the contestants on these creative reality shows usually end up friends. It truly warms my dead cold heart to see people bonding over their shared love of crafting.

Ha, and OF COURSE Seth made a bong. It made me laugh when he turned it and said that.
