Watched Dicks: The Musical. What an experience LMAO.

I'm hoping my art house theaters get The Taste of Things soon. Or maybe my local multiplex will surprise me. I almost got tickets to they Frederick Wiseman doc because of the subject matter lol.

Didn't know about the movie with Camila Mendes and Marissa Tomei, but maybe I'll check it out ha. Love these posts for discoveries like that.

I want to watch Monk and the Gun back to back with Yak in the Classroom.

Ooooh, how did you see this one? Via a screener/leak I'm guessing? I like seeing everything that's been nominated, but that one does not seem to be available legally, which sucks!

Yeah, it's out there now. I got it from r/oscarsdeathrace (whose discord and online festival last month were also great opportunities to watch the shorts).

Though it also looks like some theaters will have early-access screenings on March 6 before their bigger expansion in May.

I wanna hear some reviews of Lisa Frankenstein before I go, but it looks cute! And I'll probably check out Suncoast at some point.

Can highly recommend The Taste of Things - saw it at AFI Fest last year and was bummed that it didn't get nominated for International Film, because it was one of my favorites of the year. I blame IFC for being bad at distribution.

Also saw Cobweb at the same festival, and that one was very odd and too long, but had some funny bits.

Been making very steady progress on my Oscar watch list - this week, we tackled Four Daughters, El Conde, and Nyad. Still have nine films left and all of the shorts - hopefully those are in theaters shortly. Going to see Io Capitano with a Q&A this weekend.

Bummer about Cobweb. The premise sounds hilarious, but after watching the trailer, it seems like the type of movie where the idea will always be stronger than the execution.

Some how I didn't realize Zelda Williams directed Lisa Frankenstein.

Also I know people were annoyed with the puns in the marketing but as someone who finds Monster High delightful, they amused me a lot more than the movie inevitably will.

I need to find some of the smller Oscar nominees, the short videos.

Saw Lisa Frankenstein. Didn’t really care for the two leads and the ending was weird but Carla Gugino and Liza Soberano were great.
