Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think her daughter even wanted to go to college. She was pretty successful being an influencer. She went thru all that trouble for nothing.

nevermind lol I just confused her with Aunt Becky's daughter

honestly, her scam is small potatoes when you think about how academic admissions work (speak very generally here).

it's about who you know, family money, being related to an alumni, being a gifted athlete/musician/etc., it's about being at the right place at the right time, interviewing well, being a good test taker etc. it's rarely about having academic potential (and wtf does that even mean). sure she gamed the system and failed, but the system is rigged at elite institutions for the bulk of students. and academia is at a state where if you're going to school in america (especially for grad school) it's pretty much a top 10 program or bust.

anyway, can you all tell i'm emotionally going through it as i sit in my office at an elite institution and think about how some of the best students i ever had would never have access to this space because they're not the 'right' type of applicant? i'll stop now lol

We’ll never know what’s in her heart but she said and did all the right things since being charged.

That being said, an acting career isn’t a right and if no one wants to risk hiring her, those are also the consequences of her actions that she needs to live with.
