I want to love this season for Jodie Foster but it's just so boring. I hate the connections to S1, they feel forced. I haven't seen ep 4 yet but there are only 3 episodes left so I don't have a ton of hope that things will turn around. I rewatched S1 in preparation for this season and it just left me thinking it should've been a miniseries.
So I think this episode clears up why Navarro doesn't "follow up" on the weird things she sees, and it's fully because [Spoiler (click to open)]she's scared of indulging in what she believes is a curse on her family that has taken both her mom and her sister and is now after her (metaphorically, mental illness and depression). She thinks by ignoring it, it'll leave her alone. It's not lazy writing lol
idk still too early to tell even though there are only 2 episodes left. feels like nothing is being revealed, they're not moving forward and are nowhere close to solving any of it. the hype is a bit unwarranted but maybe the last two episodes will tie everything into a cohesive story tho i'm not holding my breath.

Can’t blame me.” During a recent interview with López she responded to Pizzolatto’s hostile remarks. “I believe that every storyteller has a very specific, peculiar, and unique relation to the stories they create, and whatever his reactions are, he’s entitled to them. That’s his prerogative,” López told Vulture. “I wrote this with profound love for the work he made and love for the people that loved it. And it is a reinvention, and it is different, and it’s done with the idea of sitting down around the fire, and [let’s] have some fun and have some feelings and have some thoughts. Season 3 didn’t flop BUT, season 1 was not as good as people make it out to be it was a stretched out law and order special victims unit episode that he basically just threw some heavy illusion to the yellow king myth into the writing… It heavily relied on woody’s and Matthew’s acting along w/Cary Joji Fukunaga‘s direction (who’s now been shunned from Hollywood because he’s a shitty boyfriend I guess)
S1 had an incredible atmosphere and good acting/directing - but the writing was lackluster. First of all, if you can't write female characters, you're not a good writer... The way he portrayed women was outdated even in 2014.
And Rust's dialogue was a compilation of "I'm 14 and this is deep" monologues.

I’m disappointed because I love Jodie Foster. I agree I watched the 3rd episode but couldn’t finish because I was so bored.
