Torne pioneered the use of the holodeck as a centerpiece on Star Trek: TNG during his time there, as well as writing for The Outer Limits.

He apparently died of complications from diabetes. That always makes me worry for older people I know with T2, just how easy it is to get complacent about taking care of yourself for years and then it is an irreversible problem.

RIP Tracy, you made a difference in my life. I have good memories watching Sliders with my dad as a kid. I hope Tracy’s family is surrounded with love as they grieve.

I was so saddened to hear this as a longtime Sliders girlie. He'd been talking about doing some kind of reboot for years too. :(

I fucking love Sliders. I watched it on maternity leave and I was obsessed. I'm still sad at the ending...and when that gate didn't have the squeak anymore.
