Idk there are plenty of men like him that truly believe they love their partner, but will do the most horrific things to them. I find it revolting, but I don’t find it impossible that HE thought he loved her. Of course, we don’t acknowledge that as love but there’s some fucked up people in the world with fucked up ideas of love :/

it was a great performance, just so dumb and evil and selfish and those occasional moments of decency that just accentuated the fact that it was all a conscious choice.

Leo’s pretty much always great, if this were a weaker year for actors he would’ve gotten in. as it is De Niro and Gladstone were the right choices for this film
