AND UGH, the body horror in this episode was wild. Lund sitting up from the hospital bed all frostbitten will stay with me forEVER. And the scene at the hockey rink with the vet was great too.
All this show is reminding me that I need to find books with this type of premise. I love a good crime/thriller/horror story set in arctic temps.
I’m also loving the Inupiaq representation!!

It made me sad when Navarro said her mom never told her what her Inupiaq name is. I'm not native/indigenous but as someone who comes from a family of immigrants and didn't learn the "real" names of any of my family members until a recent death in the family, I can relate somewhat (all of them took American names when they came here so there's no written record of their original names). Obviously it's not the exact same situation but I get that ache of wanting to connect to your heritage and having a big void.

When we got the flashback of what really happened to the abusive boyfriend, I was kind of laughing that Danvers has had this attitude towards Navarro all this time and it turns out that the main issue is that Danvers is annoyed that Navarro isn't okay with murdering people (and of course I still think that they hooked up and that's another issue between them). When he started whistling Twist and Shout, I was like oh damn, she gonna murder you, son!

It could go either way with who took the shot. Frankly, if it's one of them, it's more likely Navarro, and Danvers covered it up, but tbh, they both could have shot him.
