Originally for Netflix, buuuut...Jordan Peele saw it, liked Dev's vision, and went "Let's buy that and stick it in theaters." You probably shouldn't watch the trailer if you're interested, bc I hear it's long and spoilery.

oh my god finally!!! i was wondering if this was ever going to come out, i’m happy peele saved it from netflix. they bought the film in 2021 and then never did anything with it, which is so ???

anyways it looks very good. the fight choreo, the aesthetics, the story! really looking forward to dev’s directing debut!!

I believe he co-wrote it too as it’s based on a story he came up with. I remember Netflix paid a lot of money and then never did anything with it so I hope it’s a good sign that Peele saw it and felt it deserved a wide theatrical release.

I feel like Netflix would've had no idea how to market this, but Jordan Peele attaching his name to it is a perfect marketing move somehow. I think it elevates the expectations people would have going in & I can't wait to see it!
