Originally for Netflix, buuuut...Jordan Peele saw it, liked Dev's vision, and went "Let's buy that and stick it in theaters." You probably shouldn't watch the trailer if you're interested, bc I hear it's long and spoilery.

Okay, I could be wrong and reading too much into things, but I think there's an underlying implication that Dev's character here is an adivasi (whose people are often targeted and displaced by developers/government in India), which definitely interests me. If that's so, the reclamation of Hanuman iconography in this movie (from the fascist saffron brigade in India) is also satisfying. I think there's even a scene in the trailer that suggests the Baddie is BJP-coded?

Taken all together, this could be a very good indictment of Indian society on top of being an entertaining bloody revenge flick.
