TBH I'm not sure Coppola would have been the right writer for this (I feel like her screenplays often leave much to be desired), but I would loooove to see a version and Pugh I think would have had a lot of fun with it.

I'm not familiar with Edith Warton material but lol I watched the Gone with the Wind last year and I later saw a tumblr post about Scarlett O'Hara saying "the original gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss girl" which had me hollering cause TRUE!!

That's my issue with Sofia's style. She focuses more on the emotional/visual expressions and atmosphere than the more face value of acting, which is why I think her films run the risk of coming boring and dragging. Like for me it takes rewatches to kinda appreciate it.
