I've seen people mention wanting to discuss The Brothers Sun a few different times so I thought I would just make a separate post for it

From my understanding, third culture is a term mostly applied to Asian-Americans because they grew up with influences from multiple cultures. A combination of their familial culture and the culture they live/were raised in. You can think of a "third culture" as the center of a cultural diagram.
Third culture generally refers to growing up in a culture different from your parents'. It is frequently used to describe American children of Asian immigrants but it can also apply to other circumstances like military kids or missionary kids who were raised in other countries.
I need a gift for episode 7!! not one has made it yet! when Charles tells kevin, he will send him so much money he can do whatever, even nothing if he wants to.
I like the fact that Mama sun wanted a life in crime. but I didn't get one part, she was really a nurse?
Only 3 eps in but I love this show. As of ep 3, I'm glad that [Spoiler (click to open)]June survived and has joined Team Sun... for a minute I was afraid that the showrunners were lulling us into a false sense of complacency when June and Charles were lowering their weapons lol.
I think pretty much all the other Asian ppl I've talked to have watched the show and we all seem to love it even though we generally have very different tastes in media. I was wary when I heard that Falchuk was involved, but the all-Asian writing room is great.
I love this show. I feel like I’ve heard people from the Asian community talk about it but not from other communities. I hope it gains a lot of popularity.
Like most, Charles is my favorite character. I love that they used fresh faces for this! We don’t need to re-use the same actors over and over. I think particularly Sam Song Li and Justin Chien killed it. I was shocked to find out that Justin is actually younger than Sam irl…and then feeling guilty when I found out how young Justin is lol.
As a LA native, I recognized every location they were in. It felt like an ode to the 626.
Has anyone else commented about how weird it was that cop girl was eating Buldaak dry and how the seasoning was bright red like Cheetos? That’s not a thing!!!!
