Thanks to this post, I learned that Coco Chanel was a Nazi so that was enlightening.

Like, why are all these women obsessed with her? I just read her Wiki and that woman was clearly a Nazi!

although it was known that she was the mistress of a Nazi officer, the extend of her Nazi activities didn’t come out until the book "Sleeping with the Enemy: Coco Chanel's Secret War" was published in 2011, and the files that proof her affiliation weren’t declassified until 2014. It’s still not something that’s really talked about enough.

Oh, I didn't know! Thank you! It's wild how her Nazi ties weren't known until a decade ago. I wonder how many people there are, and they're still out there.

No, her Nazi ties were known immediately because she shacked up with high-ranking Nazis at the Ritz. The *extent* of her involvement wasn’t known until later, partly because Churchill protected her after the war, similar to how the Duke and Duchess of Windsor were protected.

I hope it drags Coco for the Nazi piece of shit she is and not gloss over it. Sure she did some “groundbreaking” fashion in her days but even outside of the Nazism she really wasn’t a good person. I feel like people get caught up in her being a woman making a name for herself but ignore how shitty she was constantly.
