This feels really gross lumping them (the brothers) in with Dahmer when they were victims themselves.

I'm wondering if they're going to flip it, reveal it was the parents who were the monsters all along?

ETA: the comment directly below suggests this is not likely to be the case. nvm.

I read brothers are going to be portrayed as liars and monsters. Lost any interest. This whole case and their sentences is a definition of fucked up.

That’s so disappointing especially given what we know about the Dad now with his history of abuse (hell what they knew then was concerning)

Where did you read that? There’s almost no information on the show.

I read it on reddit, Menendez Brothers sub. Some tv critic/journalists was answering questions about upcoming shows, based on the inside information. I hope he was wrong or script was changed.

i want to learn more about this case since it happened when i was a child and i only found out like two years ago that the father was abusing one or both brothers. that was NEVER part of the narrative i heard; only that they were after inheritance money.

i shouldn't be surprised older scandals have been misrepresented since i see in real-time how media and public opinion lie their asses off about current events, but it still pisses me off. i wasn't trying to be misinformed about those, i was just busy trying to keep up with more recent headlines and don't always think to revisit ones from my youth. :-(

fuck abusers and propagandists from every era.

If you'd like to learn more, I recommend watching Dick Wolf's show "Law & Order: True Crime - The Menendez Murders", it came out a few years ago and had Edie Falco as their attorney, Leslie Abramson. It was pretty well-done, but sadly didn't receive much acclaim compared to what I'm expecting this will...

There was also a recent documentary made on Peacock, which featured a former Menudo member who accused Jose of also SA'ing him.

The conspiracy theorist in me thinks there's a reason why this stuff was so covered up and made fun of by the media back in the 90s.

Why is this pendejo whose always complaining about being discriminating against because he's white playing a latino YET AGAIN.

But someone said the dad was white Latino. I’m not saying Javier should be playing him, but it doesn’t sound like it’s a white guy playing a poc.

and thinking about the similarity, chloe was in a movie about lizzy borden called Lizzy that i thought was well done. if her dad was really the monster they portrayed him as, i tip my hat to her. all she wanted was her freedom, her girlfriend, and her pet animals; she got the first one, and donated most of her inheritance to rescue centers.
