Kristen Stewart says her #CharliesAngels remake "was a good idea at the time," but "I hated making that movie. Honestly, the three…you can’t touch [that]. Cameron, Lucy and Drew…I love that movie! If that says anything." https://t.co/IySYgTclZK

I thought it looked bad but I watched it years ago and I'm sad it flopped. It's actually quite silly and cute and I thought the main trio were charming and fun.

Agreed, it wasn't as wild of a ride as the Drew/Lucy/Cameron one but it was a lot of fun, I wish they made more. I also wish there was a 3rd movie in the original series, they deserved a trilogy!

I hated making that movie. I don’t know what else to say to you.

You could start by saying why you hated making it bc that answer is vague as fuck lol was is really just bc she knew they couldn't top the original? Since when miss thing has any self-awareness? I have questions.

I am huge Charlies Angels fan and almost everything about this film disappointed me.

Idk why its a hard concept to get down? The ABC show also failed with trying to be "edgy" and different.

A movie called Charlies Angels and your lead single is "Dont Call me Angel" as if being an Angel is bad...

But whatever...I need a new tv series or OG3 film sequel.

a movie called charlies angels and your lead single is "don't call me angel" but in the music video all three artists are wearing angel wings*

I think there's this weird tone with women led movies these days where it's like "IF YOU DON'T LIKE THIS FILM, YOU'RE A MISOGYNIST, EVEN IF YOU'RE A WOMAN" and it turns people off. I don't want to have to watch a movie like 2016 Ghostbusters and pretend it was great just because they were women and I'm a woman. I feel like the 2000s Charlies Angels films were more marketed as FUN. I was a teen back then so maybe I'm misremembering but I didn't feel like I was making a big feminist statement by renting it at Blockbuster.

They had more of the spirit of the 70s Angels where you had these attractive ladies doing detective shit with a fun bit of humor thrown in. It was light, fun, and didn't take itself seriously; it was just a great time. I can't stand KS so it was a hard pass on the remake for me, plus it just seemed like the marketing really hit you over the head with the whole "This is a WOMAN'S Movie" that was kinda off-putting.

very much this! it bleeds into criticism of anything female related… like objectively speaking i want to remark that it is bad & not enjoyable bc the script was a pandering advert lol- IMMEDIATELY NO

I think part of that stems from incel types review bombing female led movies. So legit criticism often gets lumped in with those losers.
