He was fantastic in Wolf of Wallstreet. He was so bad in KOTFM. his grumpy frown took me out.

It's hit or miss.

Someone here said he looked like Grumpy Cat all throughout KOTFM and I can't unsee it now.

Also I kinda wish he'd done more romances, except I no longer think he's attractive. I wish he had when he still had his Titanic Leo looks.

Titanic was on last night. Still a good watch. He and Kate were so wonderful together.

I think he's talked before about how uncomfortable he was with being pigeon-holed for his looks and he didn't want to become a romantic leading man. So it makes sense that he stayed away from roles like that after Titanic. And like you said, now it's too late.

Whatever but ok

It’d do American directors so much good to evaluate American actors while also considering actors that aren’t American or English speaking. Then it just makes you realise how poor the American acting pool is when it comes to male actors the only exception being king Jack Black.

Honestly it's super obvious with American remakes. In Scorsese's case, look at Infernal Affairs vs The Departed. No way in hell does Leo and Matt Demon come close to Tony Leung and Andy Lau. It's just embarrassing to watch the Irish Boyz of Bawston try to emote when I know there's a better movie with the same plot. Lol

He had his performances when he was younger but I don't find him very compelling generally. He's never wowed me in anything he's ever been in but I don't doubt he'll be up there with those actors just based on his prestige bait filmography

I think he'll get there. I like him better in non-dramatic roles but I've never been disappointed by his acting even if I didn't like the movie.

Wait no that's a lie. I didn't like him in any scenes he was in that didn't have Lily Gladstone with him in Killers of the Flower Moon. Their chemistry was lovely.

Anything else was too distracting.

Lily Gladstone was the heart and soul of that movie.

I wish he did more light, comedic roles bc the parts of his movies like Catch Me if You Can, Wolf of Wall Street and OUATIH where he showed his funny side were so good and seemed to be more natural then his ~serious actor parts
