So is Ryan’s character supposed to be an IF too or is he just a grown man running around with a young girl cause that’s seems… iffy.

I'm going to assume he is herincle/father and the magical seeing gene, whatever you want to call it, passed down to her. Or he's some guide sent from a magical realm send to help her with the lost imaginary friends.

It does look cute. My first thought was Island of Misfit Toys ripoff where she has to find places for them or very less fucked up version of Southpark's Imagination Land episodes.
