a comeback single is the first single after a flop era. ariana's previous era wasn't a flop so this is not a comeback single. this is just a lead single

they've been using 'comeback' to describe anytime a pop star comes out with new music for years now, but i would argue positions was a flop compared to sweetener and thank u next.
