Why would you want major actors of your movie driving themselves around? That would make me nervous as a producer. Especially a movie costing 100 mil.

Plus, I heard Atlanta people drive like they're possessed.

SPN had a driver, at least for the two guys

Only because an exhausted Tom Welling nearly got into a serious accident driving himself to/from the Smallville set and there was a revolt over it. Jensen and Jared took heed and insisted on it, it wasn't given to them as standard.

And then all these years later, CW still wasn't doing it as standard because the Riverdale cast got into an accident.

If they're coming off long hours or insane call times it absolutely makes a difference. Cast and crew technically should get rides there and back for that reason alone, it doesn't have to be full rentals + drivers waiting all day long, it can be as simple as uber reimbursements and livery cab services etc. SNL does it for everyone every week they have a show because of how late they get out so they definitely can do that here as well.

ordering an uber is different than having a private car with your own personal driver. taraji here is referring to the latter.

Either way the fact is they shouldn't drive themselves, and having a private driver twice a day isn't that huge a cost either, that's essentially describing a livery cab service.

It is a huge cost if they have to get drivers for the entire cast. Look I don’t care one way or the other, I’m just saying that I don’t see it as totally unreasonable to ask actors to drive themselves to and from work.

I lived in Atl and the driving wasn’t so bad. Now drivers in Miami… that’s a whole other mess.

reminds me of that riverdale actor who had to drive himself home after a 16 hour day shoot and got into a car accident

I remember them talking about how on Smallville the cast all eventually got together to insist that the CW needs to provide their lead actor with a driver, Tom Welling was driving himself home after 16-20 hour days and they feared him getting into a a car accident because he was so exhausted

There were days he had to pull over on the side of the road and sleep!
