I mean, I truly don't believe she had a choice either. Her mother was going to kill her eventually.

Gypsy Rose was in an extremely dangerous domestic abuse relationship where her life was in constant danger - her body was literally cut open and modified as part of her mother's abuse. DeeDee would not have given up control of GR. She just wouldn't. She had already altered GR's birth certificate to make her think she was younger, there's no way she wouldn't have had her declared incompetent to make her own decisions as she had already threatened GR with that.

Sorry not sorry to abusers, but I will never give a single fuck about what their victims do to them in retaliation, out of revenge, or to escape. I just won't. I would be the person on the jury forcing a mistrial rather than convict.

Agreed-I will also add that people say "why didn't she just run away" and she did, maybe more than once, and police brought her right back to her mother. That part always amazes me. Like, she tried and the world threw her back at her abusive mother. One of them was going to end up dead at the end of it.
