A lot of SYTYCD viewers used to refer to him with similar nicknames like Creepy Uncle Nigel because of the way he openly leered at the female contestants, many of whom were teenagers (not that it’s much better to watch a 70 year old man leer at girls who are 20-22).
It really is wild what society we all grew up in and I largely blame the patriarchy. So much shit was accepted/viewed as entertaining because men had been shaping all of the stories in every way. It is preposterous that women were only depicted as objects of men or threatened by the mere existence of a woman so they can only be frenemies.
So we let these damn men behave so out of pocket and now that society has slightly improved, we’re able to see how toxic/abusive it all was.
As soon as I saw the allegations, I knew this would be brought up. While being erratic is a common accusation abusers use against survivors, Paula's fables are kind of an internet joke that I knew would be weaponized. It's really unfortunate and hopefully her team is prepared for the nastiness that will be lobbed her way.

I’m also coming at it from someone who used to have a mentally unwell neighbor (unmedicated paranoid schizophrenic) who made some outrageous claims. It isn’t fair but people’s past is something that colors your perspective.

ngl, the story starting with a villainous phone-call made me question paula’s perception of reality. She has a history for telling stories & that phone call seemed hard to believe but thankfully so easy for her to prove.
Is Paula still good friends with Simon Cowell? If so, I hope she has him on her side in this. That might sound stupid, but if this is about what happened on American Idol, he was such a huge part of it and his backing could only help (I hope).
I saw that Simon Cowell recently signed a $13 million deal for a third year of the live America's Got Talent show in Las Vegas, so I don't think he's going to say anything. Fremantle owns/produces/distributes a ton of shows including AGT and American Idol so it seems unlikely that Simon Cowell is going to badmouth the company that's signing those fat paychecks. Feel free to prove me wrong though, Cowell.
